The redesign of the Trans Plant Mastertrain website was a significant project in both scope and complexity. The previous website contained a lot of useful information but much of it was lost in a unfriendly navigation system and dated visual design. Consequently the business wasn’t getting the enquiries they should have been and losing out to their competitors.
SEO and Information Architecture
The first thing we undertook with the redesign was comprehensive search engine keyword research before working closely with the client to put together a page structure and information architecture for the new site. This concluded by implementing a clear page structure that could be accessed via multiple navigation points. Trans Plant Mastertrain is fully search engine optimised and ranks highly on many competitive keywords and is getting the customer leads it deserves.
Responsive Website Design with navigation
One of the challenges instantly apparent was how to make navigating up to four levels of pages easy and intuitive on every device, including small screen mobiles. The solution was to use a very clever but simple ‘slide out’ navigation on a mobile screen with a more traditional horizontal navigation on a desktop screen. The rest of the site is also fully responsive including images and embedded maps.
WordPress Content Management
Finally, the website uses the very well support content management system WordPress. WordPress offers the client a method of controlling, editing and adding content to the whole website quickly and easily.
